The Government Web Portal is the main gateway for the delivery of integrated services to citizens, non-citizens, businesses and the Government. It is the main point of entry for users to access Government information and services online and round-the-clock, including the interactive applications. The Government Web Portal brings together the Government services and presents them in a way that is coherent, user-friendly and practical for the users.
The Government Web Portal consists of a homepage (main page) and the following four sub-portals:
Citizen;
Business;
Government; and
Non-Citizen
The main objectives of the Government Web Portal are to:
provide round-the-clock online Government information and services through a single window;
give users the choice to decide when, from where and how they want to interact with the Government;
eliminate administrative bottlenecks, thus reducing the processing time for the provision of most Government services;
bring the people closer to the Government by keeping them abreast of the latest developments in the public sector, thus encouraging them to play a proactive role in the decision-making process of the Government of Mauritius;
provide a simple and secure interface for accessing Government services and conducting online transactions; and
modernise the public sector.
